From Hitting a Buck to Hitting $8K
Alright y’all — sorry again for missing the last publish (yeah, again 😅). But to be fair, this month has been insane. Easily the busiest I’ve ever been since starting the business.
Deer Hit
Alright, this one’s rough… I hit a deer. I wasn’t speeding or anything (seriously), but out of nowhere, this massive buck jumps over the guardrail and slams toward the passenger side. I swerve and slow down, but I just hear “thunk thunk thunk.” I’m like “ohhh crap”.
I pull over, get out, and see it’s not just any deer, it’s a full on buck, antlers and all. His legs were… yeah, not good. And I had no signal, so I had to drive 10 more minutes down the road before I could even call for help.
Tried calling my dad, but no answer. So I googled what to do, and it said to call animal control, but that sounded complicated. So I did what any logical person would do — I called 911 💀. The operator said I was fine and to just move on. Checked the truck (my 2003 F-250, aka Behemoth), not a single scratch. I swear this thing’s bulletproof.
And yeah… I was literally on my way to a junk job when this all happened. Poor Sue (the client) understood the delay.

Two Huge Jobs in One Day
Levi (my #1 bro and MVP of Junk Pros) and I somehow pulled off two massive jobs back-to-back. The first was a storage unit full of concrete blocks and bricks. The second was a giant wood pile for a guy named Daniel.
We only had my truck and a rented U-Haul trailer. No fancy equipment, just brute strength. The first job went smooth. The second? Not so much. It took us like 6–7 hours straight, but we got it done. Daniel was super happy, especially since he had a wedding happening on his property a few days later. Totally worth it.

Before

After
Nasty Full House Cleanout
Right after that, the next day we had another full house cleanout. Our third one ever. This house wasn’t big… just stinky. The lady was super nice but also a heavy smoker, so every time we walked in, the smell just hit us. Easily a top 5 worst job so far. But we got through it. Luke came to help Levi and me, and we knocked it out in good time.
Fourth Full House Cleanout
This one was for Amanda, a young mom moving across town. The problem? Everyone I usually work with was out of town or busy. So I was completely screwed. Oh, and I underbid it, big time.
So I called Plan C: my family. And man, I’m so lucky to have them. They jumped right in and helped me with everything. It took way longer than expected, but we got it done.
Also, I finally bought a trailer! Used it for the second half of the job, and it was a life saver.

First trailer load!
Redneck Shed Demo
Our friends from Canada came to visit (if you remember, I was up there last year). Ty, the kid my age and I decided to tackle a shed demo together. Sounded easy… it wasn’t.
We had a truck, a trailer, a sledgehammer, a reciprocating saw, a crowbar, some ratchet straps, and some motivation to get it done. We weren’t tall enough to reach the roof, so we tied a strap from the roof to a tree and pulled the shed down. Don’t ask how, but it actually worked 😭. I even made a video about it, you’ve gotta see it.

Locking In for 30 Minutes = $500
My dad and his friend sat me down one morning to focus on follow-ups. I had zero jobs booked when we started that day. Thirty minutes later? Four booked. That’s a $500 turnaround in half an hour just from locking in and calling leads. Huge game changer.

Wrapping up a job we wouldn’t have had unless we locked in
Sales & Pricing Upgrade
I used to give quotes over the phone and lose some jobs. Now I do them in person, and it makes all the difference. You can build trust, read reactions, and actually pitch yourself. I’ve been experimenting with my wording and offers, trying new angles each time. It’s working big time!
Behemoth Tried to Kill Me
Lately, Behemoth (my truck) had been acting weird. I ignored it… until one day, I’m driving and it’s barely hitting 35 mph — downhill. I start yelling motivational stuff at it, then angry stuff. Pull up to the job and Levi’s like, “Hey bro, your trailer tire’s flat.” 🙏
Turns out, it wasn’t just that. The shop found a bad transmission sensor, a blown spark plug, misfiring cylinder, messed up brakes that barely work. But now she’s back from the shop running smoother than ever (and actually firing on all cylinders 😅).

She’s so back and more beautiful than ever 😍
🎯 I Hit My Goal!
My goal this month was to hit $8K in revenue, and I smoked it. Here’s what made it happen:
Locking in on leads.
The new trailer = bigger jobs, fewer dump runs.
Better sales approach — quoting in person.
Actually trying harder.
And a quote from my dad: “Slow is smooth, smooth is fast.”
That one stuck with me. I’ve been slowing down, focusing, and somehow getting more done with less chaos.
Overall, September was a grind, but also one of my best months ever. I feel like I leveled up in business, mindset, and just life in general. Thanks for reading (and sorry again for the delay 😬).
See y’all next month ✌️
