August Recap: Skateboarding, Learning, and Solo Drive!st

What happened this month in August

Hey Guys,

August has been full of new experiences and some fun moments. Here’s a quick recap:

Reselling
Still going strong with reselling on Facebook Marketplace, and I’ve definitely improved my communication skills and being clear with people.

Teaching Elli to Skateboard
Taught my little sister how to skateboard. At first, I rushed it, but then I realized she needed the basics first. I showed her the proper stance and how to hop on and off without the board flying out. It reminded me how tough it can be to learn something completely new. I remember when I learned to skate I was on a 22-inch penny board, and I definitely fell a ton. My sister only fell once and laughed it off, so things weren't too bad.

Buying My Bike
I finally got the mountain bike I’ve wanted all summer. There’s just something about cruising through nature on a backwoods trail—so peaceful and freeing. Just not stressing or having anything to worry about.

Accidental Thrift Shop Find
While thrifting with friends, I was on a mission to find a wifebeater as a joke. I thought I found one, but later realized I’d accidentally bought a woman’s yoga shirt! Couldn’t stop laughing when I figured it out.

Football Game Adventure
Went to a high school football game with friends, and it was packed! I ended up sitting on a fence to watch. At one point, someone thought I was from the opposing school and literally picked me up over his shoulder and almost threw me out! Once I cleared up the misunderstanding, we dapped each other up and walked away as if nothing ever happened.

Cooking with Dad
One of my favorite things is cooking with my Dad. We usually make some kind of meat dish, and it’s always a good time and great memories.

Workout Routine
Found a simple way to stay consistent with workouts: every time I pass my room, I do a few pull-ups on the bar in my doorframe. It’s made a huge difference, and I’ve seen a lot of progress. So I challenge you guys, if you're into fitness or just trying to better yourself, to just hit some pull-ups or push-ups, or squats every time you pass or go in your room. Trust me, it makes a big difference.

Learning to Drive the Tractor
My Dad taught me how to drive the tractor, which is way different from driving a car. Had a little scare going down a hill, but I didn’t let it stop me. If something scares you, you’ve just got to keep doing it until it doesn’t.

Filming with Zane
Helped my older brother Zane film a YouTube video. He needed me to look like him, so I threw on his jacket and hat to hide my longer hair. It was a lot of fun riding an electric skateboard while he filmed from the back of a UTV. To me, it felt like a legit movie set, with a moving vehicle, fancy camera, and everything. Who knows if I'll ever do more acting or anything like that?

Solo Drives and Music
Had to pick up my sister from a pool party, and driving by myself with the music blasting was awesome. Sometimes it’s just something as simple as driving with your favorite music that can totally make your day.

That’s it for August. Life feels like it’s settling into a routine, which is both good and bad. I don’t want things to become too dull, so I’ll be looking for new challenges to keep things interesting. Thanks for reading, and I’ll see you next month!

Catch you later,

Michael
